Description

Dating from around 1870 this antique inlaid walnut bureau has been constructed from Georgian timbers during the Victorian period to a Georgian design. The walnut has satinwood banding along with boxwood and ebony string inlay providing it with a very attractive finish. The moulded fall front opens to reveal an interior that contains several pigeon holes and five small drawers with brass handles. The lower section contains three graduating drawers with pierced brass handles. The bureau stands on shaped bracket feet and has aged to a warm medium shade of walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
