CJ Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The quality of the mahogany figuring is exceptional. The fall front is highly figured and lowers to be supported by two original lopers and has a concealed arrangement of sliding drawers and pigeon holes and a newly installed leather skiver. The whole retains a wonderful rich colour and patina. The four graduated drawers are oak lined with brass swing bale handles and the original blue sugar paper to the interior. The drawers are further inlaid to enhance the appeal of this piece. The whole is raised on shaped bracket feet typical of the period. This piece has been fully restored by our team of qualified, professional restorers and wax polished to a rich mahogany colour and is ready to place in your home. Circa 1780.
