Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The moulded fall front, once opened, reveals a green baize writing surface, three small drawers with brass handles and four stationery dividers. The lower section has three graduating drawers with boxwood string inlay and decorative oval brass handles. The bureau stands neatly on shaped bracket feet and is in extremely good, crisp condition. It is a warm medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
