Late 18th Century Mahogany Secretaire Chest.

Description

A simply stunning piece of late 18th century furniture.

This chest combines storage space, along with a writing desk.

It wa smade by a fine cabinet maker around the period of 1790. Apart from one lock in the cupboard doors it is totally original. We have had the lock replaced so the chest is now able to be secured.

The only other fault is that 3 of the ivory pull knobs in the secretaire section have lost their 'heads'!....I don't think this matters too much.

This secretaire chest is made from the finest mahogany that could possibly have been available at this period. The veneers are just simply superb.

The chest measures 49 inches wide, 20.5 inches deep and is 41.5 inches high.

Inspection of this top quality piece is very welcome.
