Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The interior of the Bureau has a wonderfully carved door, it has the letters R W B and the date 1905. There is a secret compartment concealed behind the pigeon hole inside with 3 drawers
The fall front is supported by long pull rests at each side of the top drawer and it stand on bracket feet, the handles and knobs are all in brass
This is a good quality old piece of furniture, and the quality of the carving is better than most, it is in good condition with small ink staining on the top and a shrinkage split across the fall
The desk stands 44” high, 35” wide and it is 18” deep
