Antique Georgian Mahogany & Walnut Bureau Desk C1780 W3950/18.12

Antique george 111 quality mahogany bureau and dating form around 1780. It has a cross banded edge to the fall front with finely strung satinwood inlay and with brass escutcheon which opens to reveal a beautiful walnut interior with two shaped long drawers to the top above a central inlaid door with inlaid lozenge and to either side of which are two pigeon holes above a set of four drawers all of which are walnut fronted.

To the base there are two short drawers over three long graduating drawers all of which pine lined and the fronts are cross banded to the edges with fine satinwood stringing and with ivory key escutcheons and later brass handles. It stands on splayed bracket feet joined by a shaped frieze.

In very good condition with lovely colour and patination to both the mahogany and walnut oozing the charm and character of the georgian period.
