This nineteenth-century Regency chest of drawers is constructed from dark brown mahogany with ebony inlay. The bow front piece presents two short drawers above two long graduated drawers, fitted with turned wooden knob handles, keyhole escutcheons, cockbeaded edges, and an inlaid frieze featuring arrowhead corners above a shaped apron and French bracket feet. The timber displays a figured grain and a deep patina. Measuring 89 cm high, 91 cm wide, and 48 cm deep, the unit fits conveniently into bedrooms, hallways, or living rooms for everyday storage. Buyers place this compact item against a bedroom wall or in a hallway to hold linens, clothing, and household items. The warm wood tones and classical silhouette suit traditional English country house settings and period interiors. The compact footprint makes the furniture suitable for smaller spaces while providing substantial surface space on top for lamps, decorative objects, or framed photographs.

A bow front chest of drawers features a convex, curved front panel that extends outwards towards the centre, popularised during the late 18th and early 19th centuries in Georgian and Regency cabinet making.

These chests were typically constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary woods such as pine or oak, often incorporating hand-dovetailed drawer joints and turned wooden knobs.

Authentic 19th-century pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, hand-planed drawer linings, original locks with keyholes, and signs of age-appropriate wear on drawer runners and base feet.

A bow front chest can be positioned in a bedroom, hallway, or living area, serving as a functional focal point when paired with contemporary table lamps, framed artwork, or minimal ceramic vessels.

Keep mahogany away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent drying or cracking, and clean the wood periodically using a high-quality beeswax polish applied with a soft cloth.
