An impressive pair of French ormolu tazzas dating to circa 1880, executed in the Louis XVI manner

The richly decorated dishes are cast in relief with finely detailed classical scenes featuring figures, cherubs, architectural ruins and landscaped settings, displaying excellent craftsmanship and depth of modelling

Bought from a dealer on Marche Biron at the Paris antiques markets

Each tazza is supported by an ornate gilt bronze stem decorated with acanthus and foliate ornament, standing upon substantial black marble plinth bases
