Burr Walnut & Marble Top Commode C.1860

Description

Handsome French burr walnut and marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1860. Original grey marble top with canted front corners and a moulded edge over four drawers. Highly figured burr walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the front. Shallow top drawer with applied mouldings forming a diamond motif around the key hole. The three deeper drawers below set within a moulded surround. Canted front corners to the cabinet and plinth which is veneered to match. Solid walnut sides and oak drawer linings. Excellent condition and attractive pale colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied for all four drawers.
