K0671 An exceptional and highly architectural English Art Deco dressing table, having an original bevelled edge mirror with some foxing and imperfections, secured by minimalist brackets, creating a clean, modernist silhouette. The top features a spectacular quarter-bookmatched quilted maple veneers. All above two frieze drawers and a pedestal with three graduated drawers, all fitted with ebonised Bakelite handles with metal backplates. The dressing table is faced in quilted maple, which showcases a deep, shimmering, and three-dimensional grain pattern. The warm honey toned maple is beautifully anchored by a contrasting figured walnut borders and skyscraper base. Designed with both aesthetics and utility in mind, the asymmetric layout features a spacious kneehole opening.

*Bookmatching - four consecutively sliced sheets of premium quilted maple have been meticulously arranged and met in the centre to create a perfectly symmetrical, mirrored X-pattern. This precise technique amplifies the natural, undulating wave of the quilted wood grain, creating a stunning visual depth that catches the light and shifts dynamically depending on the viewing angle.

*Skyscraper base - this tiered plinth base utilises dramatic, geometric setbacks that mimic the iconic high-rise profiles of the era's grandest architecture.

Structurally sound with smooth-running drawers. Some age appropriate wear to the mirror silvering, minor dents, scratches and some historic repairs as expected with authentic period pieces. This piece is a striking example of the period's celebration of exotic timbers and structural form, it would grace any interior, blending seamlessly into both modern and traditional settings. All in home ready condition.
