Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian furniture produced between 1901 and 1910 frequently drew inspiration from 18th-century styles such as Chippendale and Hepplewhite. These chests typically feature lighter proportions, rich mahogany graining, carved detailing, and refined cast brass fittings.

These pieces were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers applied over oak or pine drawer linings. Hardware usually consists of cast brass drop handles and escutcheons, accompanying hand-cut dovetail drawer joinery.

Authentic Edwardian pieces display hand-cut or early machine-cut dovetail joints, period brass lock mechanisms, and smooth-running timber drawer runners. Look for characteristic design traits such as cabriole legs, beaded mouldings, or low gallery backs.

Position the chest as a focal storage piece in a hallway, bedroom, or living area, balancing its warm wood tones with neutral wall colours. Top it with contemporary ceramics, a modern table lamp, or framed artwork to create a contrast between traditional and modern elements.

Keep the furniture away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent timber shrinkage and veneer movement. Clean regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year following the direction of the wood grain.
