Fine 19th Century French Kingwood & Ormolu Paul Sormani Desk

Description

Here we have a wonderful late 19th Century French kingwood and ormolu mounted desk with an in built eight day clock. The desk stamped to the underneath for P. Sormani. The top of the superstructure having a moulded cresting containing the clock, the top set with five short drawers and pigeon holes above a leather writing surface and two further drawers, one containing an additional lock box, which when unlocked allows the lid to slide back to reveal a secret storage drawer, the front main drawer opens to reveal a three sectioned interior, all locks are fully functional, the clock is running and keeping time, the desk is raised on fine cabriole legs terminating in brass caps.

The desk is in very good overall condition with no damage and just the odd age related mark.
