Raised painted details add texture and depth, highlighting the exceptional craftsmanship. Minor age-related wear is present and consistent with its period.

The upper section features a graceful broken swan-neck pediment above a moulded cornice, with two raised-panel doors enclosing two height adjustable shelves. The lower section incorporates a finely fitted cylinder roll-top bureau, opening to reveal a beautifully lacquered interior with pigeonholes, three small gold-edged drawers and a central adjustable writing surface covered in tooled leather. Two additional leather-lined lift-up compartments provide discreet storage.

Below, a pair of cupboard doors offers further practical storage.
Combining striking decorative appeal with excellent functionality, this rare circa 1830 English chinoiserie bureau bookcase is an impressive statement piece, equally suited to a study, drawing room or sophisticated eclectic interior.
