We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Grand Tour bronzes are scale reproductions of classical Greek and Roman sculptures created primarily in Italy during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries for travellers undertaking European cultural tours.

These bronzes were created using either the lost-wax casting technique or sand casting, followed by manual chasing and the application of a chemical patina to create an oxidised dark finish.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples feature detailed hand-chased surface finishing, substantial weight, period-appropriate casting marks, and natural wear patterns to the patina on raised areas.

A classical bronze figure can be placed on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or desk alongside books and framed prints to introduce historical context into contemporary or traditional interiors.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply microcrystalline wax sparingly with a soft brush to protect the metal from atmospheric moisture and unwanted oxidisation.
