Grand Tour Verdigris Bronze Sleeping Faun

Rare 19th century Grand Tour verdigris patinated bronze of the Sleeping Faun or Satyr, after the antique. The original, excavated from the Villa of the Papyri, Herculaneum in 1752, can now be seen at the National Archaeological Museum, Naples. Well modelled good quality example in rare dark green patination. Italy, possibly Rome, circa 1860.
