Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Konagkend rugs originate from the North-East Caucasus within the Kuba region, known for precise geometric designs, central medallions, and structured field patterns. Produced predominantly in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, these hand-knotted textiles feature stylised motifs, architectural symmetry, and natural vegetable-dyed wool.

Traditional Caucasian rugs are hand-knotted using locally sourced wool for both the pile and the foundation. Artisans utilise symmetrical Turkish knots, creating a dense, durable weave coloured with natural dyes derived from plants, madder root, and minerals.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-spun wool construction, subtle natural dye variations known as abrash, and slight hand-weaving irregularities. The reverse side reveals a visible knotting texture matching the pile density, along with original wool fringes and braided selvages.

A geometric Caucasian carpet acts as an anchor in neutral room schemes, providing colour contrast against timber floorboards or concrete. Its linear patterns complement minimalist furniture, dark academia aesthetics, and modern eclectic interiors.

Vacuum regularly using suction only without a rotating brush attachment to avoid pulling the wool fibres. Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth and lukewarm water, rotate the carpet annually to distribute wear, and arrange professional hand-cleaning periodically.
