This is a fine example of a hand woven Tekke Turkman carpet dating from the early 20th century, circa 1920. The carpet is more finely woven than many and has great detail to its design. With five rows of fourteen Tekke gul medallions the carpet has typical design and colour palette with madder red, ivory and black shades. In this instance the red is a rich blood red and the black and ivory look very stylish against it. The pile is low and even and incredibly soft to handle. All in all, a very attractive room sized carpet with a lot of character and style. This measures 341 cms by 243 cms and is in excellent condition, cleaned and ready for use in the home.
