A fine small Georgian mahogany desk or useful chest of drawers dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, distinguished by its elegant proportions and refined detailing. The chest is crafted from well‑figured mahogany with a warm, mellow patina, and is framed throughout with delicate satinwood stringing—a hallmark of quality cabinetmaking from the period.

A practical pull‑out slide sits neatly beneath the top, offering additional surface space for writing, dressing, or display. Below, the graduated drawers retain their original layout and are fitted with brass handles and escutcheons appropriate to the period.
