ANTIQUE #SA1216588

19th Century Ottoman Embroidered Fragment, 1.83m X 0.28m

£1,250    $1,675    €1,464
Embroidered on a red cotton cloth in silk, this mysterious textile was probably made in the Balkan areas of the Ottoman empire towards the end of the 19th century. It has been sewn together for three pieces which were in liklihood cushion covers or bolsters. The design of repeating feathery saz leaves and other floral images is elegantly drawn and would make a lovely cover or item for a narrow space on the wall. Very pretty colouring, including a lovely green.
