In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Spanish faience ceramic refers to tin-glazed earthenware produced in Spain during the 18th century, notably in regions such as Catalonia and Talavera. Inspired by Italian majolica and Delftware traditions, these ceramics feature hand-painted polychrome or monochrome motifs over an opaque white glaze.

Traditional faience chargers were crafted from local clay fired into earthenware, then dipped in an opaque tin-oxide glaze. Artisans applied hand-painted metallic oxide pigments, such as cobalt blue, copper green, and iron yellow, prior to a final kiln firing.

Authentic 18th-century Spanish pieces exhibit characteristic crazing, subtle glaze imperfections, and signs of hand-throwing on the unglazed reverse. The painting displays freehand brushwork without modern stencilling, alongside natural age-related wear around the rim.

A decorative charger can be displayed on a dark wood sideboard using a plate stand or mounted on a focal wall within a curated gallery arrangement. The historic hand-painted artwork creates texture and historical contrast in contemporary spaces.

Tin-glazed earthenware should be dusted gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking in water or using abrasive chemical cleaners, as moisture can enter existing glaze cracks and cause deterioration.
