Limoges porcelain production began in the late 18th century near Limoges, France, following the discovery of local kaolin deposits, and became globally renowned for its exceptional quality and artistic refinement throughout the 19th century.

These pieces are crafted from hard-paste porcelain, fired at high temperatures, and traditionally decorated with hand-painted polychrome enamels and gilded accents applied by skilled artisans.

Authenticity is typically verified by examining the paste, the subtlety of the hand-painted details, and characteristic factory underglaze or overglaze marks stamped on the underside of the ceramic.

They can be displayed on plate hangers as wall art, arranged within glass-front cabinet displays, or utilised as statement decorative accents on console tables and sideboards.

Antique porcelain requires gentle hand washing with mild soap in lukewarm water, avoiding harsh abrasives, ultrasonic cleaners, and dishwashers to protect the delicate hand-painted motifs and gilt edges.
