It was listed by Simon Charles Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Simon Charles Antiques has dated this Antique Wooden Bed to the 1900s.
Crafted in rich walnut, the bed displays a beautiful depth of colour and natural grain. Both the headboard and footboard feature striking linen fold panels, a detail inspired by earlier Gothic influences and often incorporated into high-quality European furniture. The headboard is crowned with an attractive pierced crest rail, while both ends are finished with elegant turned finials, giving the piece a stately and timeless presence.
To suit modern use, the side rails have been thoughtfully adapted to accommodate the extra length required for a UK King size mattress, allowing for greater comfort while retaining the bed’s original character. It comes complete with a bed base, making it ready to use.
Dimensions:
Width: 5ft (UK King size)
Headboard height: 160 cm
Footboard height: 114 cm
