Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chain-stitch rug weaving in Kashmir developed as an adaptation of traditional crewel embroidery techniques applied to floor coverings. Craftsmen adapted European design influences, particularly 18th-century French Aubusson floral patterns, combining Western decorative arts with South Asian textile craftsmanship.

These rugs are typically constructed using a heavy cotton canvas or hessian backing cloth. Hand-dyed wool yarns are stitched through the foundation using an awl needle (hooked needle) to form a dense, continuous loop surface across the entire carpet face.

Authentic pieces feature continuous hook-stitch looping visible across the top layer, creating a flattened yet textured pile. The reverse side reveals the canvas base cloth with fine secondary backing stitches, accompanied by hand-tied cotton fringe along the ends rather than machine-sewn edging.

Floral embroidered rugs add texture and classic pattern to minimalist or traditional rooms. They function effectively placed beneath coffee tables, in bedrooms, or centrally in sitting rooms alongside natural timber furniture and muted palette upholstery.

Vacuum the rug regularly using suction only, avoiding rotating beater brushes that can snag the embroidered loops. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a damp cloth and mild neutral detergent, and arrange professional dry cleaning for thorough restoration.
