This 19th-century Regency period side cabinet takes a breakfront silhouette and uses amboyna veneer in a warm brown shade with striking figured burl patterns. The top surface holds a pierced brass gallery rail along the edges, complemented by gilt metal mounts at the upper corners of the cupboard doors. Below, the cabinet incorporates panelled doors with vertical mouldings, small keyhole escutcheons, and visible timber grain variations. Measuring 95.9 cm high, 186.7 cm wide, and 45.7 cm deep, the unit provides ample surface area and internal storage. It functions well in a living room, dining room, or hallway to display decorative items while storing tableware, linens, or books within its enclosed cupboards.

Regency amboyna side cabinets date from the early 19th century, featuring highly figured amboyna wood veneers, symmetrical proportions, and decorative brass galleries or mounts influenced by classical design.

These cabinets showcase amboyna veneerknown for its tight burl figurelaid over an oak or pine carcass, accented with cast brass galleries, gilt metal mounts, and inlaid timber borders.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail construction, period-correct brassware with natural oxidisation, hand-planed secondary timbers, and genuine amboyna veneer displaying surface depth and light historical wear.

Position the cabinet as a low credenza along a dining room wall, hallway, or living area, pairing the detailed wood grain with contemporary artwork or structured tabletop accessories.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, apply natural beeswax sparingly along the timber grain, and place the cabinet away from direct heat sources or sunlight to protect the veneer.
