He became a metof the RI in 1877.He painted mainly landscapes with rustic figures, hunting act and still-life.His earlier work featured genre, but later became known for his rustic subjects. ‘A Wayside Drink’ signed watercolour dated 1868,image size 22x27 cms, framed size 41x46 cms.provenance : with Walker Galleries,Harrogate.One of a pair in stock by the same artist.
