Jacobean Oak Chest of Drawers with Original Brasses, c.1680

Jacobean Oak Chest of Drawers, Late 17th Century
This fine Jacobean oak chest of drawers dates from the late 17th century and displays the robust construction and restrained decorative character typical of the period. Crafted from solid oak with a rich, warm patina developed over centuries, the chest offers both historical presence and practical storage.
The chest is fitted with five graduated drawers, each running on traditional oak side runners, a clear indicator of early drawer construction. The drawer fronts are simply fielded and retain their original brass handles and escutcheons, adding authenticity and period charm. The moulded top sits above a well-proportioned case, raised on sturdy bracket feet that give the piece a grounded, architectural feel.
With its honest wear, excellent colour, and strong proportions, this Jacobean chest would make a superb addition to a
... country house interior, traditional bedroom, or collectors setting, blending seamlessly with both antique and sympathetic modern furnishings.
