19th century swedish copper and brass water barrel circa 1880.

We are pleased to offer this piece of rural swedish life for further use around the home.

Made in copper and hand hammered into shape, these vessels were used to store water in the times when there was no mains water, and water was taken directly from a lake or stream.

Honeycombed shaped with functioning hinged lid.  ideal for use now as a log bin or even a wash basket.  fantastic decorative item with original patina.  expected fading and minor dings to metalwork in line with age and use.
