Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian bow-fronted tallboy, also known as a chest-on-chest, is a vertical wooden storage chest originating in the 18th century, featuring a curved front facade and two stacked drawer sections to maximise vertical floor space.

Georgian tallboys were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany or oak lined with hand-cut dovetail drawer joints. Decoratively, they often featured satinwood crossbanding, flame mahogany veneers, and solid brass oval plate handles.

Authentic Georgian tallboys exhibit hand-sawn secondary timber on drawer bottoms, uneven hand-cut dovetail joints, original brass escutcheons, and natural wear or shrinkage consistent with two centuries of age.

A tallboy serves as a striking focal point in a master bedroom or spacious hallway, providing substantial storage while pairing comfortably alongside minimalist modern artwork and neutral soft furnishings.

Maintain mahogany furniture by wiping with a dry soft cloth and applying beeswax polish once or twice annually, keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and artificial heat sources to prevent wood movement.
