Miniature Mahogany Kneehole Desk

A superb miniature mahogany kneehole desk in the George II manner with caddy top. The piece is exquisitely made in miniature with all working drawers and cupboard. The drawers are oak lined and have individually made handles. The cupboard has a working lock and above it is a hidden drawer. The desk is in excellent original, untouched condition with a great colour and patina. It is most likely that this piece was made as a novelty or toy by a professional craftsman. The desk would date to the late nineteenth or early twentieth century and is a superb example of miniature furniture. C.1900.
