Silver Waltham pocket watch, Great War presentation.
The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement, Traveler grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 21,017,611 which dates it back to 1917.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has been engraved, ‘Presented to C Cooper, by the Thrybergh Hall & Swinton Common Collieries Welcome Home Fund in appreciation of services rendered in the Great War’.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the hinged back covers for Birmingham 1918, with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, a Birmingham based case maker and supplier to Waltham UK. The case is in good condition, just a little unevenness to the back but not too detrimental.
The glass lens has a couple of short scratches.
The dial is in lovely condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial an
...d outer minute markers.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
