In a contemporary home, this cabinet functions as a practical storage unit with an internal shelved compartment. FAQs

Louis XVI style furniture is defined by neoclassical symmetry, geometric parquetry, straight lines, and decorative elements inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity.

Craftsmen typically utilised fine hardwoods such as kingwood, tulipwood, and walnut for veneers, paired with cast gilt-bronze ormolu mounts and polished marble tops.

Authentic cabinetwork displays hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine secondary carcass woods, hand-chiselled bronze fittings, and natural vein patterns within original marble slabs.

Position the cabinet against a neutral focal wall, layering it with minimalist ceramic vessels or modern artwork above to create a balanced contrast between historic craftsmanship and contemporary lines.

Dust surfaces with a dry microfibre cloth, avoid direct sunlight and humidity fluctuations, and clean gilt-bronze mounts lightly using a soft brush without harsh chemical polishes.
