Late Meiji Period Bronze Oni Demon

Good quality late Meiji period (1868-1912) patinated bronze statue of a Japanese standing mythical Oni demon presented on a later substantial green marble block base. Modelled with small horns to his head, a scowling face standing legs apart with clawed feet wearing a fundoshi. Well cast with a deep rich patina. Japan, circa 1900.
