Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Fortuna, the Roman goddess of luck and personification of fortune, became a prominent subject in Classical and Renaissance art, widely reproduced during the nineteenth-century Grand Tour movement as refined interior bronzes.

Traditional bronze sculptures were cast using the lost-wax process, after which the metal surface was hand-chased and treated with chemical mixtures to produce dark brown or green patinated finishes.

Authentic period castings display finely rendered details in the hair and drapery, crisp joint construction, age-consistent wear to raised surfaces, and natural oxidisation along the lower base mounts.

Position the bronze figure on a polished dark sideboard, mantelpiece, or dedicated pedestal against neutral walls to emphasize its dramatic vertical silhouette and metallic texture.

Maintain patinated bronze by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth or soft-bristled brush, avoiding water or abrasive chemical cleaning agents, and applying a thin coat of microcrystalline wax annually.
