Large Victorian Toleware Hot Water Can

1900 - 1920
Description

A good example of a large hot water can dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. Originally used to top up baths with hot water it now makes a great watering can or decorative object. It is a good quality piece retaining its original faux grain painted finish.

It is in good original condition and is both decorative and usable. There are no major damages, splits or holes and it is water tight. There are signs of age and use, some small dents and dinks and some surface wear and minor corrosion to the paint but nothing untoward. It has been cleaned and gently polished and displays well.

Approximate Measurements :

Height : 15" (38cm)

Length (handle to spout) : 17 1/4" (44cm)

Width : 7" (18cm)
