An impressive English carved oak, 19th century antique pedestal-partners desk circa 1870-1880.
A prolifically carved oak partners desk in the Flemish style, with repeating themes of carved masks or ‘Green Man’ carved details, an architectural element often found in antique furniture and architecture of the period, Green Man is a reference to the cycle of life and nature.
Antique pedestal partners desk with inset leather top, comprehensively carved to 1 full side and each side of the pedestals have carved moulded upper and lower sections, repeated to the moulding edge of the top. The opposite side has flat oak panels.
A superbly stylish and practical desk of excellent proportions, both function and form, an interior design piece of considerable decorative appeal for a classic or contemporary space.
