Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An uut kap or ilgich is a traditional embroidered textile bag or decorative hanging crafted by nomadic Uzbek Lakai tribes of Central Asia. Historically created for yurt storage or ceremonial display, these textiles feature vibrant geometric patterns and symbolic tribal motifs.

Lakai textiles were typically hand-embroidered using vegetable-dyed wool or silk threads onto a wool or cotton base fabric. They frequently incorporate hand-bound woollen tassels, fringe elements, and decorative cordage.

Authentic pieces display cross-stitch or chain-stitch embroidery with horn-shaped, spiral, or ram-headed motifs characteristic of Lakai design. Natural dye variations, hand-spun foundation fabrics, and minor asymmetrical irregularities in the weave indicate genuine period origin.

Mounting the textile onto a simple wooden rod or framing it inside a glass display case preserves the fibres while highlighting its graphic geometric patterns. Positioned on a neutral wall, it serves as a textured focal point in contemporary or eclectic spaces.

Keep the textile out of direct sunlight to prevent natural dyes from fading over time. Dust gently using a low-suction vacuum cleaner covered with fine mesh, and consult a specialist textile conservator rather than attempting wet cleaning.
