Antique Uzbek Bokhara suzani of small size, attractive floral design.
Circa 1920.
They are then used to decorate the inside of the Yurt. They are embroidered in silk on strips of cotton which are then joined together to make the complete item. The suzani is then backed with fine cotton to give it strength and body.

This small example is embroidered using the 'Tambour' technique, this uses a crochet hook rather than a needle. The silk embroidery is on a hand woven linen ground.
The condition is excellent with only very slight wear and no repairs, the suzani has a printed cotton backing that can be seen in the images.
The suzani is ready for display.
