Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. This Georgian kettle is a traditional British kitchen vessel produced around 1820. Fabricated from warm copper and brass with a polished finish, the piece displays a rich reddish-brown and golden metallic colour palette. Key decorative and functional elements comprise a curved gooseneck spout, a stepped domed lid topped with a cast brass acorn finial, and an overhead brass handle secured by jointed side mounts. The main body exhibits smooth rounded contours formed from sheet metal with visible panel construction seams, accompanied by subtle surface patination and minor historic handling marks consistent with age. Practical for contemporary home display, this item sits comfortably on a kitchen island, shelf, or work surface as a decorative rustic accessory or traditional fireplace accent. It measures 28 cm high, 19 cm wide, and 19 cm deep.

FAQs

Georgian copper kettles date between 1714 and 1830 and were utilitarian hearthside vessels manufactured for boiling water over hearth fires or range stoves.

Kettles from this era were constructed from sheet copper with hand-brazed or dovetailed seams, featuring cast brass handles and turned finials for durability.

Authentic Georgian pieces exhibit hand-dovetailed seams along the body and base, fixed or swivel brass handles, and subtle surface irregularities from manual forging.

Position the copper kettle on a rustic kitchen island, a stone fireplace hearth, or open timber shelving to add visual warmth and historic texture to a room.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a mild metal polish specifically formulated for antique copper, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that strip natural patina.
