Description

This antique mahogany bureau features a fall-front decorated with a central shell inlay and bordered with fine line inlay to the sides. The fall opens to reveal a neatly fitted interior with nine pigeonholes, two small drawers, and a practical writing surface. Below are four graduated drawers, each fitted with decorative drop handles. The bureau stands on bracket feet and is finished with a shaped apron to the front and sides.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition overall, with age-related wear consistent with use. The bureau shows surface marks and scratches throughout, together with some fading to the front and top drawer. There are losses to the back and front, staining to the writing surface, and splitting to the sides. These aspects do not detract from the piece’s character and authenticity as an antique.
