Late Victorian Mahogany Bureau Probably Maples & Co

Description

A late Victorian mahogany & satinwood crossbanded bureau of small proportions, probably by Maples & Co. The rectangular top above a pair of small drawers over a cylinder front opening to reveal the original leather lined writing surface and drawers. The base with a single drawer standing on four square section tapering legs ending in brass caps and castors, united by a stretcher. Finished on all four sides, can be placed away from the wall. Retaining the original cast brass handles and patination.
