A large and pretty blue and white Dutch delftware charger dating from c1780, with a central floral design surrounded by four complimentary patterns, a geometric border, with a yellow band to the rim. The plate has an old stapled repair to a crack.A very attractive plate with nicely painted decoration. It has a hole drilled through the back to carry a hanging wire, but this unfortunately appears to have caused the crack as it runs right though the centre of this. The crack has been repaired with metal staples - I have a bit of a soft spot for ceramics with old stapled repairs so for me this adds to its charm, but I�m sure not everyone will see it the same way, and this is reflected in the price.Condition: Other than the crack mentioned above the charger is in good condition, with some wear and chipping to the glaze around the rim, as is common with delftware.Free UK delivery - the item will be sent using a tracked and signed for service.
