Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

The Arts and Crafts movement emerged in the late 19th century as a reaction against mass production, championing traditional craftsmanship, hand-working, and the integrity of natural materials.

Pieces from this era typically feature solid native hardwoods, notably quarter-sawn oak, joined with traditional mortise and tenon construction, often displaying exposed joinery and hand-hammered metal hardware.

Authenticity is indicated by solid timber construction, visible medullary rays in quarter-sawn oak, hand-finished surfaces, pegged joints, and utilitarian designs focused on functional simplicity rather than heavy ornamentation.

An antique wooden sideboard provides strong architectural presence in modern spaces, pairing effectively with minimalist walls, contemporary lighting, and curated decorative objects to create a balanced, eclectic aesthetic.

Preserve antique timber by maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight, and periodically nourishing the wood with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone-based polishes.
