Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne revival furniture emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, replicating early 18th-century English designs. Characteristics include figured walnut veneers, reeded or rounded corners, subtle shaping, and distinctive bracket feet.

These chests typically feature walnut or burr walnut veneers laid over a solid hardwood or pine carcase. Secondary woods like oak or pine form the drawer linings, accented with cast brass handles and keyhole escutcheon plates.

Authentic pieces feature period construction methods such as hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, oak drawer bases, and traditional brass hardware. Look for natural patination, subtle crossbanding along drawer fronts, and authentic timber shrinkage lines.

A warm walnut chest serves as an anchor piece in a bedroom, hallway, or living area, balancing contemporary neutral paint schemes. Pair it with a minimal tabletop mirror, contemporary ceramics, or framed botanical prints to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern living.

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent drying and veneer lifting. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish twice yearly along the grain and dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth.
