Antique silver Waltham Royal hunter fob watch & chain.

The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement, Royal grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 4,683,763 which dates it back to 1891. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 40mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for Birmingham 1888 with a sponsor’s mark for Alfred Bedford, manager of Waltham UK. The case is beautifully decorated on the front and back, and it is in beautiful condition.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is a glass lens which has some fairly minor marking if viewed closely. Some white reflection showing in the photo.

The signed dial is in good condition with lever set blued steel hands.

The watch comes with a single chain, 25cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Each of the links has the lion silver mark. The date letter is difficult to read, possibly 1897. Also included is a Victorian six pence coin which has been drilled to form a fob.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
