Jajims were usually woven for domestic use, to wrap up and store personal effects. The designs were intended to protect the contents and ward off the evil eye. Given the conditions under which this piece was used, it has survived in excellent condition and has recently been professionally cleaned. Today this lovely tribal masterpiece would enhance many decorative setting, as a wall hanging, or as a cover for a bed or other furnishings.
