Sold by: Cloverleaf Home Interiors

Here we have a very rare small military campaign chest of drawers c1825. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. This fine chest was made by one of the best makers of campaign furniture William Day of 353 The Strand London. The 5 storey building still stands today between the Lyceum Tavern and The Wellington public houses. There is a makers label in the top right hand drawer. William Day moved premises from the Strand in 1840. William Day manufactured furniture to the Royal family as the label suggests. You would expect the chest to be of the highest quality and this is true. Made from the finest Mahogany and all Solid English Oak lined drawers with hand cut dovetail joints. The other rarity of this chest is its size as it is only 88 cm wide 109 cm high and 48 cm deep. This wonderful diminutive size makes for a most appealing chest of drawers. The brass work is also of the finest quality and the chest is in great retail condition ready for your home.
