We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Lakai textiles originate from the semi-nomadic Lakai people of Central Asia, primarily modern-day Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, known for their distinct embroidered hangings and trappings.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-spun cotton or wool foundation fabrics overlaid with velvet, silk, or cotton embroidery threads, often worked in chain stitch with woollen tassels.

Authenticity is determined by examining the natural dye palette, hand-spun fibres, traditional asymmetric tribal motifs, and signs of genuine age such as wear and oxidation in the fabric.

These pieces function well as focal point wall art, often mounted on linen backdrops or framed in acrylic shadow boxes to highlight their intricate textures within a modern scheme.

Preservation requires mounting away from direct sunlight in climate-controlled environments, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, and periodically inspecting for insect activity.
