This is a large antique country house sofa. An English, walnut and velvet button back settee, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

Stunning, grand Regency statement piece with luxuriant proportion

Displays a country house chic appearance, commensurate with gentle use

Walnut show frame a treat of rich caramel hues and relief carved motif

Ivy green, soft velvet upholstery lightly time worn, but delightfully endearing

Serpentine crest rail rolls across the diamond pleated and buttoned back rest

Enclosing the seat with shaped wings above broad, rolled arms

Inviting seat width, with generous accommodation for three at 6' between the arms

Traditionally stuffed and sprung cushion for superb comfort, with a seat height of 43.5cm (17.25'')

Carved supports to each arm host ornate relief feather scrolls and foliate motif
