Description

Unusual little Queen Anne style chinoiserie lacquered bureau c.1930. Extensive raised lacquerwork and hand painted decoration of oriental figures in a landscape across the fall and drawer fronts. Further painted decoration to the top, sides, apron and legs to striking effect against a very dark blue ground. Open the fall to reveal a fitted interior of pigeon holes and three small drawers painted red with gold detail. Two larger drawers below the desk with unusual brass handles and also with red painted interiors. Attractively shaped apron and moulded cabriole legs front and rear. Obvious sun damage to the paintwork on the left hand side of the bureau. Otherwise good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
