Antique Edwardian Walnut Pedestal Desk

An impressive and large antique Edwardian walnut pedestal desk. It features two small banks of drawers, secured by hinged and lockable pilasters with raised edges, positioned on either side of an open shelf and a gallery of turned spindles. The desk top has a central sloped section, flanked by flat surfaces, each fitted with dark green leather skivers over three drawers, with the middle one serving as a dummy. The sloped section lifts and is held in place by a wooden restrictor, revealing a fitted interior with a small drawer and four pigeonholes. The desk is supported by twin pedestals, each containing three graduating drawers on either side of a large kneehole, with each drawer fitted with brass drop handles. It stands on a moulded plinth base, set on castors for mobility.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition overall, with some signs of age, as shown in the photos. There are age-related marks, scratches, and surface wear throughout, along with some staining and marks on the leather surface. A split is visible on the side, though the structure remains solid. The drawers run smoothly.
